The Permanent Roommate and I aren’t much for publicizing the big moments in our life. We didn’t pose for an engagement photo and didn’t put our wedding picture in the paper. All the important people knew about both events. For a split second we toyed with the idea of mailing out a birth announcement but realized the mailing list was filled with people that already met the baby. Kind of a waste of postage.

If we did an announcement with both agreed it would be something funny and original. Nothing against the people that just send a professional pics of the newborn but I’ve got enough crap on my fridge, thanks.  We’d do something that friends would get a good chuckle about just before they threw it in the trash. It’s fine to admit that’s where they go, you’re not heartless just not a hoarder.
